01 · The Brief

The Brief

No client. No deck. Just Nike — the brand that taught everyone how product design and graphic design can be the same conversation — and a sustained personal exploration of what it would look like to design for them.

Two threads: a high-fidelity 3D recreation of the Air Jordan 1 (full Blender pipeline — model, materials, lighting, render) and a poster series around the Air Max silhouette built as if for a campaign that doesn't exist.

The point of self-directed work is to use it as a sandbox — push craft, prove technical claims, and design against your own brief instead of someone else's. This is the file that gets pointed at when someone asks if I can really model in 3D.

02 · The Approach

The Approach

Personal work earns its keep two ways: by pushing skill or by proving range. I split this project into both — 3D as the technical proof, posters as the design-craft proof. Each one stress-tests a different muscle.

Step 01
Model

Build the Air Jordan 1 in Blender from reference — geometry, panels, stitching, sole.

Step 02
Material

Apply realistic leather, rubber, lace, and metal textures with proper UV mapping.

Step 03
Render

Light four hero shots and document the process inside Blender as supporting artifacts.

Step 04
Poster

Step away from 3D and design an Air Max poster series — gritty, retro, type-led.

Step 05
Compose

Close with a wide banner that takes the poster system from print into out-of-home.
