Consensus by CoinDesk
A collection of event-driven digital assets developed for Consensus by CoinDesk, designed to build momentum and audience engagement leading up to the conference. This work highlighted featured speakers, partner brands, and key event moments—delivering a cohesive visual identity across social media and digital platforms to drive anticipation and attendance.
The Brief
Consensus is CoinDesk's flagship conference — the biggest stage in crypto. The pre-event creative had to feel as serious as a Wall Street keynote and as urgent as a tech launch, all while pushing through a crowded feed.
Three asset families: animated promotional pieces highlighting speakers and themes, photographic stills showing the event in motion, and partner-brand cards positioning sponsors against the Consensus identity.
Everything had to read as one event despite being made of three different visual logics — motion, photography, and flat brand work — and had to ladder up to the conference's premium positioning.
The Approach
Conference creative is anticipation-building. The work isn't about the event yet — it's about making the audience want to be there. I built around three rhythms: motion to create urgency, stills to ground the event in reality, and partner cards to signal scale.
Lock the Consensus visual language — type, color, motion timing — before producing any individual piece.
Build the animated promos around speaker reveals and date countdowns.
Compose the photographic visuals to ground the event in a real space.
Design brand-partner cards that honor each sponsor without flattening the event identity.
Cut everything to platform specs and hand off for the rolling pre-event launch.
