Voltage
Voltage is a conceptual energy drink brand developed from the ground up, merging the refreshing taste of lemonade with the bold intensity of an energy drink. Born from my experience as a college student and frequent energy drink consumer, the brand addresses a gap in the market: flavor-forward options that feel both familiar and exciting.
The name Voltage was inspired by the fact that lemons can generate small amounts of electricity, an unexpected scientific detail that perfectly aligned with the product’s citrus base and energizing nature. This connection informed both the name and the visual language, which emphasizes boldness, clarity, and high-voltage impact.
This project explores every aspect of the brand, from naming and logo design to packaging, visual identity, and promotional strategy. Offering a fresh take on what an energy drink can be.
Visual Identity
Voltage’s visual identity is built to reflect the bold, high-energy personality of the drink itself. The logotype features heavy geometric letterforms with sharp angles and strong contrast, evoking power and clarity. The custom wordmark is paired with an electric bolt icon integrated into the letter "L,” a subtle nod to the energy theme and the lemon-powered origin of the brand.
Azo Sans and Azo Sans Uber serve as the primary typefaces, balancing approachability with impact. These fonts create a clear hierarchy across packaging, ads, and merchandise while maintaining a playful, high-contrast presence.
The color palette is inspired by four core flavors. Strawberry, Blueberry, Peach, and Lemon, each assigned a bold, vibrant hue. These colors work across packaging and marketing to distinguish flavor profiles while reinforcing a bright, energetic tone.
Supporting the identity is a stylized circuit board pattern, used as a background graphic element. This pattern ties directly into the concept of voltage and electricity, adding a layer of tech-inspired texture that reinforces the brand’s core message: "Shockingly Refreshing."
Labels
Each Voltage flavor features a fully custom label design that combines bold typography, vibrant color palettes, and an electrified visual theme rooted in the concept of energy and citrus power. Inspired by the fact that lemons can generate electricity, the label design incorporates a stylized circuit board pattern that runs throughout the packaging, visually reinforcing the brand’s high-voltage personality.
The layout emphasizes strong hierarchy and clarity, with key brand elements, like the vertical Voltage wordmark and the flavor block anchored against a textured black-and-yellow background. Each flavor (Strawberry, Blueberry, Peach, and Lemon) is color-coded to ensure instant recognition, while maintaining consistency across the system.
Messaging is playful and energetic, with phrases like “Shockingly Refreshing!” and a callout of the drink’s caffeine content designed to catch attention and communicate the brand’s core promise. The overall design balances retro-tech inspiration with modern energy drink aesthetics, positioning Voltage as both flavorful and functional.
3D Can Models
To bring the Voltage brand to life in a realistic, product-ready form, I created a full set of 3D can models using Blender. Each render showcases a different flavor. Lemonade, Strawberry Lemonade, Blueberry Lemonade, and Peach Lemonade, highlighting the distinct color palette and unified circuit-inspired label design.
This 3D execution serves as both a proof of concept and a high-fidelity visualization tool, extending the Voltage identity beyond flat design into fully realized packaging.
3D Animations
To further elevate the Voltage brand presentation, I created a set of animated 3D can rotations using Blender. These looping animations showcase each flavor from all angles, highlighting the detailed label designs, bold typography, and metallic finish of the can surfaces.
These animations bring an extra layer of energy and polish to the project, reinforcing Voltage’s bold, tech-forward aesthetic while demonstrating motion design and 3D production skills.
Marketing
This series of promotional posters was designed to energize the Voltage brand through bold, stylized visuals that act as marketing assets. Each poster features a dynamic arrangement of 3D can renders layered over a custom circuit-board pattern, reinforcing the brand’s high-voltage identity.
Marketing Visualization
These mockups visualize how Voltage promotional posters would appear in real-world environments. Ranging from urban sidewalks and subway stations to cafés and outdoor walls. Each setting was chosen to emphasize the brand’s high-impact visibility in both high-traffic public spaces and more intimate, social venues.
Promotional Video
This short-form promotional video was created to introduce the Voltage brand with bold energy and visual punch. Featuring 3D cans, kinetic typography, and a pulsing electronic soundtrack, the video captures the essence of the drink’s identity. Electric, refreshing, and built for high-energy lifestyles.
